American Jinga

We’re definitely not playing a game per se but the state of our nation really reminds me of that game Jinga where you take time pulling out pieces until everything crumbles.

Trump’s extracting structural pieces from the foundation of our entire country. It’s not just democracy that he is destabilizing, it is every system, including the banking system.

I keep telling friends and family that, very much like that game, we are still standing now. We still look the same in many ways but we are already drastically weakened. I’m not sure exactly which piece will cause us to totally crumble but I fear we are near that point.

I don’t believe we will make it to see the end of his (first) four years before that happens. He has no intention of being brought to justice.

On a sadder note after being on DU for more than 20 years (I changed names so my profile doesn’t show all my time) I miss the good old days when posts like this were shut down by the community as hyperbole.

I’m not sure what you are hearing from your friends and family about what’s going onbut one thing I keep hearing is that God will take care of this. That may be true. I will not disparage the religious community. However I believe before that happens God wants people to realize that they have given up the gift of democracy because of apathy and ingratitude.

Thanks for listening to my doomsday ramblings.

The minute MN became "hot" they invaded Fulton County GA.

Welcome to the memory hole.

The minute the Epstein files were released and got “hot” they went overseas and invaded.

In a real life version of catch–and-kill, it’s pretty clear they have a proverbial list of controversial actions sure to take over the news cycle when things get too hot.

They are experts at shocking the public.

I can’t imagine what they’re saving for the next hosing.

Nat'l. Weather Svc. (NWS) failure in action

I’m in Chicago. Major snowstorm. Not predicted. Google weather changes by the minute. Last night there was a tiny bit of snow and Google showed it stopping by 7 PM. Woke up this morning to a foot of snow Google showed it stopping by 11 AM. Then two hours later Google showed the snow would stop by 1 PM. Just checked in less than a hour and Google shows the snow will stop by 7 PM‼️ This has never happened.

Normally with accurate predictions the highways are cleared at least. There’re some plows on highways but nowhere near what’s needed.

Will the media cover this NWS failure? Definitely not. It’s shameful.

A plundering lunatic and men intoxicated with wealth and power

have taken control of the country. We are at their mercy and in grave danger. I don’t know what to do except acknowledge this obvious fact. This is the stuff that I read about in history books that I believed would never happen again. But here we are. Things are bad but after the midterms I expect even worse.

Apple just disappeared several of my playlists.

Unbelievable. I spent YEARS putting together some of the music. Now it’s vanished and unrecoverable.

I was on the treadmill switching songs and the next thing I knew the whole playlist that contained the song was gone.

I called support only to be told that music and playlists are not part of Apple backups! It would’ve been nice to be forewarned but that’s too much like right.

For any chance of recreating playlists you have to download the metadata but not the actual music to an xml file on the computer or the cloud if you want to recreate lost lists.

I hate Apple.

Some people need no proof to believe a lie, but need all the proof in the world to believe the truth... --Jamie Foxx

Just putting this out there because it’s succinct and true.

Who pulled the trigger? The victim's family deserves to know so does the public.

We must demand the identity. They cannot take lives without even being identified.

Elon Musk the greediest man in the world

Instagram maimaryamlove asked AI if we should stop calling Musk the richest man in the world and instead call him the greediest.

AI response:

“Richest” normalizes extreme wealth accumulation and masks the human rights violations that enable it. Calling Elon Musk the greediest instead of the richest man is more accurate if his wealth depends on systems that extract wealth from others while violating human rights.

Labor

Musk’s companies (Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter ) rely on exploitive labor, unsafe factory and environmental conditions, union busting and wage suppression —including documented labor abuses at Tesla factories.

Public Subsidy Privatization

He’s extracted billions in public funding while privatizing the returns. That’s structural theft--taking collective resources for individual accumulation.

Ecological Extraction

His ventures rely on lithium mining and rare earth extraction operations that displace indigenous populations and destroy ecosystems.

Narrative Manipulation

His public persona is a tool of legitimacy. He frames himself as a visionary while weaponizing platforms to suppress dissent, amplify supremacist ideologies and destabilize public discourse.

It’s maximum extraction disguised as innovation. Calling Elon Musk greedy is more accurate than richest. Richest normalizes extreme wealth accumulation and masks the violations that enable it. Greediest reveals the structural function--extraction beyond sustainable or ethical limits dependent on suppressed labor, ecological harm and narrative control. If we keep calling violent extractors successful (rich) we legitimize the architecture that enables collapse. Precision requires naming what’s happening.

…Structural truth … requires analyzing the position he occupies and what sustains it. …Coherence demands we assess systems not individuals in isolation … structure reveals what the system rewards--extraction disguised as brilliance. Calling that greed isn’t an attack it's exposure.

I think this is brilliant and that Bezos, Zuck and other mega billionaires should also be called greediest.

Will a "third term" wear out the statute of limitations from Smith's investigation?

Because we are basically dealing with a criminal bank robber who is hiding in plain sight trying to escape the law.

I could see him prolonging the debate about a third term just long enough to wear out that statute,

Kamala being interviewed by Jimmy Kimmel tonight is enlightening but also frustrating

The frustrating part comes from her saying that the Epstein files weren’t released by Biden becausethey took an absolute hands-off approach to politically interfering with the justice department. Also, Kimmel asks her if she thought Biden did enough to help her in her campaign. She said something to the effect of some in the administration didn’t do enough.

I take issue with both answers. Finger pointing even indirectly at Biden angers me because he extended an Olive branch to Harris selecting her her as VP even as she was critical of him during their campaign.

No one seems like to take Biden‘s feelings into account. He was blindsided by the swift momentum that led him to step down. I cannot imagine he was in any shape to lend support. He needed support. And I find Harris to be ungrateful.

I also take issue because of the purity stance with not interfering with the justice department. That’s just pure bullshit and it’s why we are here today.

Still watching…
